Sen. Hawley isn’t “transphobic” – he’s trans-honest

Tuesday, a University of California Berkeley Law Professor Khiara Bridges told Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) that he’s “transphobic” and that his line of questioning will lead to violence against transgender people. And, on Wednesday, the Washington Post piled on attacking Hawley for refusing to admit ‘some transgender men can get pregnant.’

Hawley was asking Bridges questions in a Senate Judiciary hearing that Democrats called to address the idea that, with the Supreme Court ruling that ended Roe v Wade, abortion bans in some states will harm “people with the capacity for pregnancy.” Hawley was pressing the question that “people with the capacity for pregnancy” actually refers to women. But Bridges claimed that trans people can get pregnant.

According to WikiPedia, “Pregnancy is possible for transgender men who retain functioning ovaries and a uterus.” For someone who dares to remain skeptical about the idea of gender fluidity, this is a laughable and contrived arrangement of reality with wishful thinking.

Translating the WikiPedia article, what they’re really saying is that, if a woman transitions to ‘a man,’ but keeps enough of her original equipment, she can still get pregnant. But that assumes that she truly transitioned to a man. Wishful thinking doesn’t make it so and those darn X and Y chromosomes hold out as stubborn indications that there really are limitations to science.

On the Left, Khiara is now some kind of hero for daring to call a senator ‘homophobic’ in a senate hearing. It’s the kind of act her side will applaud. But it’s also deeply dishonest. And, when it comes to transgenderism, Hawley has the facts and honesty on his side.

This is America, which means that, if someone wants to consider themselves an aardvark, they have a right to do so. They can probably find a doctor somewhere to give them a tail and plastic surgery can extend their nose. They can scurry about on all fours and even develop an appetite for ants. They can believe, with every fiber of their being, that they are an aardvark. But that just doesn’t make it so.

The problem in America isn’t that some people have emotional issues that drive them think that, for instance, they’re a man trapped in a woman’s body. The problem is that the Left is demanding that everyone ignore the evidence and play along or shut up about it.

Freedom to ‘transition’ to another sex doesn’t grant anyone the right to demand others agree. That’s called mind control and it's a crime against humanity. And forcing people to publicly agree or shut up about it is a crime against the constitutional right to free speech.

Even if it turned out that Hawley is wrong – that men can get pregnant – that doesn’t mean anyone has a right to force him to agree. The social pressure in this country to go along with such nonsense, or to get cancelled for daring to speak out against such ideas, is a violation of that free speech. If the Left was so sure that they’re right, they wouldn’t worry about someone disagreeing with them.
