Biden picks Communist for Comptroller
By Rich Rostron11/19/2021
President Joe Biden has nominated Saule Omorova to be our national Comptroller of the Currency. Saule Omarova is referred to as "a self-proclaimed radical" Cornell University law school professor.
According to its Website, The Office of Comptroller of Currency states that its mission is "To ensure that national banks and federal savings associations operate in a safe and sound manner, provide fair access to financial services, treat customers fairly, and comply with applicable laws and regulations." The OCC is an independent branch of the Treasury Department.
Omarova was born in the Soviet Union and, according to a video reported in the New York Post, said that she "wants coal, oil and gas industries 'to go bankrupt.' " She made those comments last February at a "Social Wealth Seminar."
In the same NYPost story, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) referred to Omarova as "a grave threat to our economy".
"She wants to destroy energy independence, wants to nationalize consumer banks, & she has called to 'effectively end banking as we know it.' ", Cruz Tweeted.
The Huffington Post, however, portrays the battle of Omarova's nomination as based on Republicans stirring up visions of a "Red Scare." In a Huffington Post article by Paul Blumenthal from Oct. 13, the writer argues, "Their (Republicans) main line of attack is not about her qualifications, but about her place of birth: the former Soviet Union." He goes on to quote Patricia McCoy, "A financial law expert at Boston College of Law and a friend of Omarova" as saying, "She is the most patriotic person I know."
The defense of Omarova, however, seems to fly in the face of comments she's made in the past, and her refusal to release her thesis from Moscow University. That thesis, mentioned in the same Huffington Post article, is titled: "Karl Marx's Economic Analysis and the Theory of Revolution in The Capital."
As radical as she may be, her nomination could be confirmed, with Democrats having tacit control of the Senate (48 Democrats and 2 Independents vs. 50 Republicans), often leaving the tie breaker to VP Kamala Harris.
Omarova has previously worked as a special advisor in the Treasury Department during the George W Bush administration. She graduated from Moscow State University in 1989 and moved to the United States in 1991 where she attained a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. She later received a J.D. degree from Northwestern University's Pritzker School of Law (https://wealthyspy.com/saule-omarova/).
The List of Biden's Radical Nominees is long.
According to numerous other articles, Omarova is only one in a long line of radical Leftists nominated by Biden. Kylee Zempel, of The Federalist, ran an article titled "Here Are Joe 'Moderate' Biden's 10 Most Insanely Radical Nominees."
Her list includes:
- Tracy Stone-Manning, an 'eco-terrorist' nominated to lead the Bureau of Land Management.
- David Chipman, to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, is said to support Antifa who "supports a ban on AR-15s … (and) fought for handgun licensing and registration and universal background checks." His nomination is considered a significant factor explaining the recent explosion of gun purchases.
- Catherine Lhamon, nominated for assistant secretary for civil rights with the Department of Education. She previously held that position during the Barack Obama administration, where she was faulted for failing to support "due process rights for people accused of sexual misconduct on college campuses."
- Xavier Becerra was confirmed by the Senate as the head of the Department of Health and Human Services. Republicans were opposed to her "lack of qualifications or health care experience, radical abortion positions, refusal to call for free and fair elections in Cuba after meeting the dictator Fidel Castro" and her support "of Obamacare, gun control, open borders, and radical climate plans." As Attorney General of California, Becerra sought "to sue the nuns of Little Sisters of the Poor for refusing to comply with Obamacare's contraceptive mandate on religious grounds."
- Rachel Levine was approved by the Senate as Biden's assistant Secretary of Health. Formerly Richard, Levine is the first transgender federal official approved by the Senate. Republicans have raised concerns about someone who is transgender having oversight of public health, while Levine has also proved unwilling "to condemn the genital mutilation of children."
- Deb Haaland, nominated by Biden to lead the Department of the Interior, is considered an "extreme environmental activist" and is a favorite of radical socialists in Congress known as "The Squad." She opposes oil and gas exploration on public land.
- Pete Buttigieg was approved by the Senate as the Secretary of Transportation. Though The Federalist article refers to opposition to his strongly pro-abortion positions, Buttigieg has also been criticized for a lack of experience, criticism that has proven almost clairvoyant considering his mishandling of the cargo shipping crisis and failing to respond effectively to a shortage of truck drivers who are dealing with increased regulations.
- Alejandro Mayorkas was approved by the Senate as head of the Department of Homeland Security. Concerns about his open-borders perspective have also proven well founded considering the crisis at our Southern border.
- Vanita Gupta was confirmed by Democrats as associate attorney general in spite of "her support for defunding the police, while approving of the openly Marxist organization Black Lives Matter."
- Zempel lists VP Harris as the 10th in her list of "Insanely Radical Nominees." However, while there is ample evidence of her radicalism, because her nomination was for vice president was put to American voters to decide, she doesn't necessarily fit on this list.
In what way do these choices follow that promise?
